Square Enix has released the fifth episode of the behind-the-scenes video series “Inside” for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, highlighting the work of Master Nobuo Uematsu and singer Loren Allred on the game’s song “No Promises To Keep”. This video was published in light of the game’s multiple nominations for the Game Of The Year 2024. Nobuo Uematsu is a Japanese composer whose renowned career began in 1986 when he joined Square, a Tokyo-based video game studio. During his 18 years as a composer at Square, he contributed to numerous video game soundtracks, including the Final Fantasy series, Final Fantasy Legend, and Chrono Trigger. In 2004, he left Square to establish his own production companies, SMILE PLEASE and Dog Ear Records, where he continued to work on various video game music projects. In 2020, Uematsu composed the theme for Final Fantasy VII Remake, which won the Japan Gold Disc Award for “Soundtrack of the Year.” In addition to his famous game soundtracks, he has achieved significant global success through producing and directing world orchestral tours. More recently, he held the Nobuo Uematsu withTIKI SHOW, showcasing different performance styles of his and his band, as well as a live reading of “The Story of Bilk-O,” an original work for which he wrote both the story and the music.
Loren Allred is a singer and songwriter known for her stunning performance of the song “Never Enough,” which has achieved several platinum certifications, from the Oscar-nominated and Grammy-winning soundtrack of “The Greatest Showman.” Although she was not a well-known face to the public, in April 2022, Loren Allred appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, where she performed “Never Enough” and received a Golden Buzzer, generating a strong reaction in the industry. Loren is regarded as one of the greatest voices in the field and has collaborated with Michael Bublé, touring globally with legends like Andrea Bocelli and David Foster.
