After being unveiled in September with a first teaser, Warner Bros has now released a new trailer for a Minecraft movie, the live-action adaptation of the famous video game. As noted by Mojang’s senior creative writer, Cristina Anderca, in a post on the official site, we meet a group of adventurers who stumble into a strangely blocky world, where creativity is the key to survival and the sun sets with alarming speed. You can learn more about the Overworld and the mobs that inhabit it, from the oddly cute to the chaotically hostile. Really hostile. You can watch the trailer at the end of the article.
Here’s the general description of the film:
Four misfits —Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks)— are dealing with everyday problems when, suddenly, they are catapulted through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, wonderful, cubical land that thrives on imagination. To return home, they must master this world (and protect it from evil creatures like Piglins and Zombies) while embarking on a magical mission with an unexpected expert artisan, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be brave and rediscover the qualities that make them unique in their creativity… exactly the skills they’ll need to thrive in the real world.
Below you can watch the new trailer, remembering that a Minecraft movie will be available in theatres on April 3, 2025.
