Electronic Arts has released the upcoming updates for EA SPORTS NHL 25, a hockey game available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Among the new features, the company announced a multi-year partnership with the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). With its launch on December 5, the PWHL in NHL 25 will include all six teams – Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montréal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, and Toronto Sceptres in Play Now, Online Versus, Shootout, and Season modes. PWHL uniforms will also be available in World of Chel, with players, logos, and uniforms featured in Hockey Ultimate Team (HUT).

Starting November 15, the NHL Arcade event series will be available, offering players a 3-on-3 arcade-style experience. Additionally, 4 Nations Face-Off will be integrated, a round-robin tournament hosted by the NHL and NHLPA featuring four international teams filled with superstars. Below is an overview from the PlayStation page:

EA SPORTS NHL 25 features ICE-Q, a new gameplay intelligence system that gives you the time and control to dominate every inch of the ice. The next-gen vision control lets you skate the blue line, challenge the puck carrier, focus on the goal, and much more. The enhanced AI completely transforms the CPU player system in Chel, increasing realism with revamped schemes that improve game control and create better positioning and offensive opportunities.

The reactive actions utilize a series of new animations to make players more responsive in critical situations, enhancing their competitiveness, collision avoidance, and reliability. ICE-Q delivers true hockey realism. Additionally, the revamped Franchise mode, a brand new Live WOC event structure, the HUT Wildcard mode, and a streamlined single-path XP progression system in HUT make Chel’s gameplay modes even more exciting.
