According to recent announcements, the new M4 Macs will be available in a multitude of retail stores worldwide and will give users access to the latest chipsets, along with a range of other enhancements. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of display spaces for each product, and since the Apple Vision Pro hasn’t gained the traction that the tech giant hoped for, it had to prioritize one category over another. Additionally, since production of the headset has slowed down and the device will no longer be manufactured by the end of 2024, the decision to reduce its presence in multiple retail locations makes sense.
Unfortunately, previous estimates revealed that the Apple Vision Pro did not exceed 100,000 shipments in the United States, and while CEO Tim Cook admitted that the device was never intended for the masses, global shipments could have been much higher had the price been more manageable and had there been a broad library of apps providing users with the same degree of freedom and control as they have with other Apple products.
