According to recent announcements, MediaTek is expected to present the Dimensity 9400 in October; it’s believed that the upcoming flagship SoC will share several features with the Dimensity 9300, such as having only performance cores and no efficiency cores. The new chip will also be the company’s first to be mass-produced using TSMC’s second-generation 3nm process, improving efficiency to the point where relying solely on performance cores won’t seem like a disadvantage. The biggest boost in the Dimensity 9400’s score came in the GPU category, where the chipset scored 1,322,761 points, accounting for 44% of the total.
The CPU also received a notable increase, likely thanks to the new “BlackHawk” architecture, which was previously reported to feature a higher “Instructions Per Cycle” than the A17 Pro.
