Splatoon 3: details on the Grand Festival Splatfest, plus new themed amiibo available

From September 13 to 16, the Grand Festival will take place, the biggest Splatfest for Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch: a 72-hour event filled with celebrations and music.

To decide their team, players will vote by answering the question: “What matters more to you: Past, Present, or Future?

Before the Splatfest, a Big Run event will start on September 7. Additionally, two new Splatoon-themed amiibo sets will be released today.

Here are all the official details:

Performances will feature the three groups from the Splatoon series: Trio Triglio, the Sea Sirens, and Tenta Cool. In the first part of the Splatfest, the three groups will alternate on three stages. In the second part, they will perform together in a special rendition of their new single “Three Wishes”. During both parts, players can use the directional buttons to express themselves at any time with exclusive poses.

During this Splatfest, 4-vs-2-vs-2 Tricolour battles will be available from the start. For the first 48 hours, all previous Tricolour battle arenas will be in rotation, including the Grank Canyon, which was previously exclusive to the Legend of Zelda-themed Splatfest. The last 24 hours will introduce the exclusive Tricolour battle arena, Arena di Splattonia. If you manage to obtain the ultraflag, your team’s supporters will come to cheer for you.

In preparation for the Grand Festival, Ursus & Co is looking for new employees for the upcoming Big Run event, as the Salmonids will invade the Great Arena of Splattonia from September 7 to 9. To encourage everyone to protect the arena, rewards in the form of scales will be distributed to all players if a total of 700,000,000 Golden Eggs is collected globally during the event.

To get a commemorative photo from the Grand Festival, anyone who reaches the rank of “Elite Mollusk” or higher in the Splatfest will be able to take pictures with one of the three groups on the stage of the Giant Clam. In addition to the pose of Trio Triglio for players who achieve the title of “Elite Mollusk”, players holding the Expansion Pass for Splatoon 3 will also be able to get poses for the Sea Sirens and Tenta Cool.

A new pose will thus be unlocked for players who reach a rank above “Elite Mollusk”. Additionally, there are rumours that the scaffolding for staff in front of the Giant Clam stage may serve as a scenic backdrop for photos.

Additionally, two new amiibo sets are being released today, one featuring the Sea Sirens and the other featuring the Tenta Cool, as they appear in the story mode of Splatoon 3 and in the paid DLC, Side Order. These amiibo also come with their own special gear and the ability to take pictures with them once scanned.
