The Kickstarter campaign for Altered Alma, a metroidvania being developed by 2Awesome Studio and published by Critical Reflex, has kicked off. In this game, you’ll face off against gangs and crime bosses in a Neo-Barcelona. To mark the occasion, a new trailer has been released, which you can watch at the bottom of the article.
The initial goal is set at 40,000 euros (as of this writing, around 25,000 have been raised), and the campaign will run until October 3rd. The game’s release is currently planned for Steam, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PS5/PS4 in the fourth quarter of 2025, between October and December. This title is a 2D Metroidvania that combines fast-paced combat and strategic gameplay. Players will use the Quantum Blade, a unique tool that allows instant teleportation to its location, altering the approach to enemies and exploration. Whether dodging shadows or battling foes, your agility and tactical decisions will be key to survival. Set against a backdrop of an alien-infested Neo Barcelona, the game fuses the atmospheric tension of Blade Runner with the intricate management of the spaceship and crew from Mass Effect 2. You’ll delve into personal stories, creating ties and romantic narratives that enrich your journey and influence the evolving world of the game.
