GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY, a leading company in the production of motherboards, graphics cards, and hardware solutions, has announced a BIOS update that addresses a recently identified security vulnerability known as “Sinkclose” in AMD desktop processors. This security flaw has been reported as an issue affecting all AMD processors since 2006, involving millions of devices globally. GIGABYTE continues to work closely with AMD, demonstrating our commitment to quickly resolving any issues that may affect our customers’ experience. The new AGESA BIOS, which fixes the security vulnerability, will be progressively released on the website starting at the end of August.
Users are advised to install the BIOS update as soon as possible. The BIOS update can be easily performed using GIGABYTE technologies @BIOS, Q-Flash, or Q-Flash Plus. Please refer to the table below for the AGESA BIOS version and compatible models.
