Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Clair Obscur Expedition 33: first look at gameplay

Announced with a first trailer during the Xbox Games Showcase in June, Clair Obscur Expedition 33 returns to reveal the first real gameplay footage, lasting almost 7 minutes, which you can watch at the end of the news.

As stated in the update on the game’s Steam page, this video preview offers a glimpse of an initial area of the game, shortly after the expedition’s departure, focusing on a region known as Flying Waters. Here, Gustave and Lune are searching for Maelle, another member of the expedition, and must traverse the area to uncover clues about her location.

The development team informs that they have infused Expedition 33 with a rich environmental narrative. Throughout the game, numerous ruined structures, worn paths, and remnants of previous expeditions can be found. For instance, in the aforementioned Flying Waters, Expedition 68 does not seem to have ended well, and by exploring the environment, players can understand what happened.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33, developed by Sandfall Interactive and published by Kepler Interactive, will arrive in 2025 (exact release date not yet revealed), on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, also available through Game Pass.
