Crytek has presented the in-game event, Scorched Earth, along with a new Wild Target, Hellborn: exploring the tortured peaks of the new Colorado map, Mammon’s Gulch, players clash with this new threat with the arrival of Hunt Showdown 1896 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on August 15.
Below are the official details of the upcoming event in Hunt Showdown 1896:
Starting in the new Colorado biome, Scorched Earth brings three covenants that hunters can join as they descend from the train from Louisiana under the shadow of the mighty Rocky Mountains. The incursion of Mammon’s Gulch is in full swing as horrors beyond comprehension spill forth from the oil wells and mines that traverse the mountain peaks.
In addition to the new fiery Wild Target, the upcoming Event brings new gear, ammunition, and weapons, including the 1865 rifle, the basic Infantry 73L rifle with a sniper variant, Bear Traps as a new Tool, and a scoped Deadeye crossbow variant. A completely new Weekly Challenges system better supports players who join the action mid-Event, and a Battle Pass filled with free and premium rewards is available to unlock.
- Hellborn
An amalgamation of fire and flesh and a source of immense heat, the Hellborn can be audibly tracked by listening in Dark Sight.
Risen from the depths of Mammon’s Gulch, this new Wild Target can be found in multiple locations, stalking the land until provoked into an explosive response.
Representing a completely new threat, the Hellborn moves frantically to strike Hunters who invade without permission, burning everything within its considerable range.
Be warned: it’s best to eliminate the Hellborn quickly, as its furious howls attract the attention of other Hunters throughout the Gulch, multiplying the threat minute by minute.
