Fireshine Games has announced the launch of Toads of the Bayou on PC via a video on their YouTube channel.
The main character and his group of wandering toads were looking for the right place to set up camp, but Baron Samedi, a spirit of the afterlife, tricked them, trapping them in a cursed bayou and forcing them to face the evil forces that inhabit it. Determined to defeat the horrific Baron Samedi, the toads must join forces to fend off the various waves of his allies and build a campsite in the bayou. Players take on the roles of different toads, each with unique traits, bonuses, and penalties, in a grid-based battle. Each turn is unique thanks to procedurally generated maps, random combat encounters, permadeath, and a variety of upgrades. Players will need to manage resources to grow their campsite and the population of toads in the bayou. All buildings, such as the military outpost, the witches’ hut, and the armory, will be inhabited by allies who will provide unique skills and cards to add to the deck. Players can create traps and enhance their territory to repel enemies attacking the campsite.
