Let’s remember that during last year’s event, Baldur’s Gate 3 won Game of the Year, while The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom took home the Best Action/Adventure award. Additionally, the TV series The Last of Us won the Best Adaptation award. In the 2023 edition, Cyberpunk 2077 won the Best Ongoing Game award.
Here’s an overview of the event:
The Game Awards is a ceremony dedicated to awarding the best video games released during the year, divided into various categories; they are considered the equivalent of the Academy Awards for film and the Grammy Awards for music. The event is created and hosted by Geoff Keighley, a Canadian journalist who previously hosted the Spike Video Game Awards.
