The 30th anniversary live stream of Warcraft brought together all the teams that have worked on the franchise, reflecting on the legacy of this iconic game universe, celebrating the community, and delighting them with the new features coming to every Warcraft title.
The videos of the many announcements made during the event are available on all Warcraft channels on YouTube (WoW, Hearthstone, and Warcraft Rumble). Here’s a recap of all the new features announced for each game:
- WORLD OF WARCRAFT (Modern): On November 23, WoW celebrates 20 years of unwavering exploration (and saving) of Azeroth.
- The first major content update for The War Within, Cavern of the Deep (11.1), will be released early next year and will take players into the goblin’s underground capital, as they continue their hunt for the mysterious Xal’atath to thwart her plans.
- With Cavern of the Deep, the second season of The War Within will include:
- 2 new Raids, with current ones receiving thematic updates.
- 1 new Dungeon, which will also be included in the Mythic+ dungeon selection for Season 2, along with the remaining four launch dungeons and three classic dungeons.
- A new mount designed for quick travel within the Goblin city.
- And, of course, a new raid with 8 bosses where players will confront Gallywix and his allies in the Cavern of the Deep.
- Player housing is coming to Midnight! The WoW team shared a preview, concluding their part of the live stream. More details on this system will be revealed next year.
- WORLD OF WARCRAFT CLASSIC: The Season of Discovery is ending to make way for a “new” beginning.
- The Classic story continues on progression servers with Mists of Pandaria Classic, inviting players to explore this beloved expansion as it was (with “#somechanges”) when it was first released in 2012.
- A highly requested feature by WoW Classic players is arriving: the 20th Anniversary Edition Realms will offer Classic era players a new beginning in World of Warcraft and will also include Hardcore server options, both with simultaneous content updates up to Burning Crusade Classic. Additionally, non-Hardcore servers will also update their content to Burning Crusade Classic.
- HEARTHSTONE: The Hearthstone team revealed the new content coming in 2025, including the next three expansions!
- The team will kick off the year with a journey into an entirely new universe: the mini set Starcraft Heroes invites Protoss, Terran, and Zerg to the tavern.
- Shortly after, the team will open the doors to the Underground Arena, before diving into Emerald Dream for the first expansion of the year.
- After that, players will return to the Un’goro crater to explore the Shrouded City, before concluding the year with a journey alongside Chromie through alternate realities in Heroes of Time.
- WARCRAFT RUMBLE: Let’s celebrate a year of delightful chaos!
- Warcraft Rumble is coming to PC! The beta version will be available on December 10.
- The release of Warcraft Rumble for PC will follow shortly after the introduction of another brand new feature: Split Leaders. These leaders belong to two families at once and include legendary characters such as Orgrim Doomhammer, Malfurion Stormrage, and Anub’arak.
- WARCRAFT RTS: The pioneers of the saga are receiving updates… available now!
- A new Warcraft Battle Chest is available to allow players to explore the origins of the Warcraft universe with some modern tweaks and general improvements.
- This dynamically priced package (that is, it adjusts based on what players already own in their collection) will grant access to:
- Warcraft: Orcs & Humans Remastered
- Warcraft II: Tides of War Remastered
- Warcraft III: Reforged
- This game will be updated to version 2.0 and will offer new features, including a customizable visual style for players, who can choose from three different options: Reforged graphics, classic graphics, and a newly enhanced version with higher resolution for modern systems.
- Moreover, thanks to the three available graphic options, players will be able to mix and match elements of their user interface, from icons and portraits to in-game scenes.
