The Lost Prince of Persia

The Rogue Prince of Persia: artistic update ahead of the second act

Released in May, in early access, The Rogue Prince of Persia, a metroidvania from the famous Ubisoft IP, developed by Evil Empire. Recently, the team announced that for the second act, which will be available from November 21, several graphical improvements are on the way.
The team has been working over the past few months to prepare the game for this significant content update, which will offer:

  • a major artistic update
  • More biomes
  • More bosses
  • New story act + narrative refinements for act 1
  • New enemies
  • Many quality-of-life additions, such as multiple save slots and more
  • Localization in German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish

As the developers point out, the most noticeable change in this update is the art direction, featuring a varied colour palette, the addition of many more details, and an overall improvement. You’ll also notice that the Prince is no longer purple: this change was made because the purple tone didn’t fit the new direction.
This update will mark a turning point where the team has effectively doubled the game’s content since launch. All the signature elements of a rogue-lite are present: gameplay loop, meta-progression, builds, difficulty modifiers, and more. Additionally, development will continue until 2025.
