Hideaki Itsuno: the former Capcom developer joins Tencent’s new LightSpeed Japan Studio.

Hideaki Itsuno, a historic director at Capcom since 1994 until this year (the announcement of his departure came in August), who has worked on some of the company’s most renowned IPs, including Devil May Cry, Dragon’s Dogma, Street Fighter Alpha, and Rival Schools, has revealed his new role. The director has taken a leadership position at LightSpeed Japan Studio, a new development studio under Lightspeed Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent.

LightSpeed Japan, based in Osaka and Tokyo, will focus on triple-A action games.

“It is a great honor for us to have Hideaki Itsuno join LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS. The creation of LightSpeed Japan Studio is a significant step in the expansion of LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS and demonstrates our commitment to bringing the best possible games to our players.”
