Remedy Entertainment has published an update on all its titles currently in development. These updates are part of the latest earnings report dated November 1st.
Regarding Alan Wake 2, the game has recovered most of its development and marketing costs. According to CEO Tero Virtala, it still needs to generate royalties. The recent release of the DLC The Lake House, which launched on October 22nd, wraps up the game’s post-launch plans.
As for future projects, FBC: Firebreak, previously known by the codename Condor, has recently been announced and “is in full production with a particular focus on iterating the core loop and implementing a clearer user interface for players, based on playtest feedback.” It’s worth noting that this title was unveiled at the Xbox Partner Preview in mid-October and is set to release in 2025 (exact date yet to be revealed) on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, and it will be available at launch on both Game Pass and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
For Control 2, it is still in the pre-production phase, with plans to enter full production in 2025. Here’s what Virtala had to say:
“Many of the critical features of the game have been implemented to mitigate production risk, and workflows and pipelines are being tested in preparation for full production.”
Additionally, in August, Remedy Entertainment and Annapurna announced a strategic partnership agreement under which Annapurna will fund 50% of the budget for the development of Control 2, and will gain the rights to expand the Control and Alan Wake franchises into film and television.
Lastly, the remake of Max Payne 1&2 continues its production, making steady progress, but no updates have been provided regarding a possible release date for the game.
“The remake of Max Payne 1&2 is making consistent progress in full production. The development team continues its work, gradually reaching important milestones.”
