Intel fails to achieve its revenue target of 500 million dollars for Gaudi’s AI

According to recent announcements, Intel’s Gaudi AI accelerators have not managed to achieve quarterly revenue, while Team Blue struggles to capture market interest. Pat Gelsinger of Intel claims that despite the launch of the new Gaudi 3 AI accelerator, the company was unable to reach the expected revenue, particularly because the transition to the new platform has been quite slow and the Gaudi 3 AI solution has not impressed customers enough to drive higher adoption rates. For those unaware, Intel reported a non-GAAP revenue of $13.284 billion, actually beating general consensus.
The company is more focused on efficiently managing workloads, which is why Gaudi 3 does not compete in terms of raw performance with solutions like NVIDIA’s Blackwell and AMD’s MI300X. So far, Intel has yet to enter the “high-end” segment of the artificial intelligence markets, and given the presence of competitors, it seems they need to make a significant impact.
