Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguard hits 70,000 concurrent players on Steam, marking BioWare’s best debut

Since yesterday, Dragon Age the Veilguard, the new chapter in the BioWare and Electronic Arts saga, has been available on October 31. According to statistics from Steamdb, the game reached the top spot on Steam’s best sellers and exceeded 70,000 concurrent players within the first 24 hours of its release (specifically 70,414). This figure makes it the most popular launch on Steam for BioWare titles, surpassing Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which peaked at 59,817 players.

In the realm of single-player Electronic Arts titles, The Veilguard outperformed the Star Wars Jedi series but falls short of Need for Speed Heat (which peaked at 86,196) and The Sims 4 (with 96,328).

Here are the statements released yesterday by Gary McKay, Vice President/General Manager of BioWare and Executive Producer of the new Dragon Age:

“On behalf of all of us at BioWare, I want to thank you for joining us on our latest adventure. After years of careful planning, countless hours of expert work, and many design decisions, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is ready. We are truly proud of this milestone and excited to see its impact on our global community of fans, without whom none of this would be possible. We hope that your enjoyment of your adventure with Rook is as great as ours was in creating it.”
