Argonaut Games announced that the remastered version of Croc Legend of the Gobbos, a platformer originally released in 1997, will be available digitally in December on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 (Pro compatibility), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC Windows exclusively on GOG.
Jez San, founder of Argonaut Games, stated:
“From the very beginning, our vision has been to release Croc only when we are satisfied with it. We are racing toward the December 2024 release and are very close to completion. However, if we need to add a bit more polish, we won’t hesitate to do so. After waiting 27 years, we trust that our die-hard fans can wait a few more weeks.”
So, for now, the release is set for a vague December, but depending on the situation, it may take a little longer.
Additionally, Argonaut Games announced a collaboration with Rock It Games, a publisher focused exclusively on indie and retro games in both physical and digital formats, for the release of physical and special collector’s editions of Croc Legend of the Gobbos. Physical pre-orders from Rock It Games start today for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch and will run until December 10. The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99 and includes the base game and a color manual, while the Collector’s Edition is priced at $129.99 and comes with an 8-inch resin statue of Croc with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity, a Croc PVC keychain, an 18″ x 24″ art poster, a set of Ultra3DFX stickers, a four-disc CD soundtrack featuring over 100 tracks, including remixes, pre-release versions, and unused tracks created for the Croc soundtrack, all packaged in a premium box.
