World of Warcraft: The celebrations for the 20th anniversary kick off on October 22nd.

The in-game celebrations for the 20th Anniversary of World of Warcraft will begin on October 22.

The first content update for The War Within (11.0.5) will be released on October 22 after the completion of regional maintenance. Heroes of Azeroth, past and present, are invited to the Caverns of Time in the Tanaris desert for special celebrations.

As World of Warcraft approaches its 20th Anniversary, officially on November 23, players can engage in various in-game activities to celebrate two decades of adventures, with plenty of rewards available. Here are some of the activities included:

  • NEW CLASSIC RAID: Blackrock Depths
    • This Classic-era dungeon has been redesigned as a 10-15 player raid featuring 8 bosses, available in Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic modes.
  • NEW TIMEWALKING ADVENTURES: Classic Dungeons
    • Classic dungeons will be available with Group Finder and will officially enter the Timewalking rotation after the anniversary event.
      • Death Mines (original Classic version)
      • Wailing Caverns (East Wing and West Wing)
      • Stratholme (Living Wing and Undead Wing)
  • NEW OUTDOOR BOSSES
    • Additional raid bosses are returning with extra rewards, along with bosses from the previous anniversary:
      • Sha of Anger (from Mists of Pandaria)
      • Archavon the Stone Watcher (from Wrath of the Lich King)
  • LEGENDARY REWARDS
    • New mounts, pets, and classic transmog sets will be available for acquisition with a new currency, Bronze Celebration Tokens.
    • Additionally, with the Bronze Celebration Tokens, players will be able to purchase updated modern versions of the Tier 2 armor sets, available for all classes, including new ones that didn’t exist during the original Tier 2 era!

The 11.0.5 content update will also implement other changes and new features for players, including class balance updates, new quests, and the ability for Dracthyr to choose six new combat classes, including Rogues, Mages, and Priests.
