Assassin’s Creed Shadows: have the real reasons behind the delay been revealed?

Rumours are still emerging about the reasons behind the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, with the well-known insider Tom Henderson reporting based on information from sources close to the development team. According to Henderson, there are multiple reasons for this postponement. On one hand, the company wants to make changes to certain aspects of the character Yasuke, particularly regarding his story, how he’s portrayed in the game, and the gameplay. However, it’s important to note that the character of Yasuke will not be removed from the game, despite rumours suggesting otherwise in recent days.

On the other hand, there is a desire to fix some bugs before the game’s release and to improve its graphics further. Additionally, several historical and cultural aspects need to be addressed, as this time—unlike in the past—historians collaborating with Ubisoft have been involved at a much later stage of development. Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed at this point, so these details should be taken with caution. Lastly, we remind you that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and is set to be released on February 14, 2025.
