Final Fantasy XIV Online: the release date for the new patch has been revealed

Square-Enix has unveiled the first major patch for Final Fantasy XIV Online following the release of its fifth expansion, Dawntrail™. The details for Patch 7.1, titled “Crossroads,” were announced during the latest Letter from the Producer LIVE broadcast at the Tokyo Game Show 2024.

During the broadcast, producer and director Naoki Yoshida discussed a series of additions included in Patch 7.1, such as the continuation of the main story, the first part of the crossover alliance raid series with FINAL FANTASY XI, new Allied Society missions, and much more. Below is a list of all the new content set to be introduced, with the release of this new update expected in mid-November 2024.

  • The patch will introduce the highly anticipated crossover alliance raid with SQUARE ENIX’s first MMORPG, FINAL FANTASY XI. This 24-player battle content, titled “Echoes of Vana’diel,” kicks off a new series of raids for FINAL FANTASY XIV: Dawntrail, where players will embark on an adventure in the completely different world of Vana’diel. The Patch 7.1 series will also add various high-difficulty combat content, including the first high-difficulty 24-player alliance raid, titled “The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic),” as well as a new Trial, a new Unreal Trial, and a new Ultimate Raid.Patch 7.1 will include various content, updates, and more, including:New main scenario missions;

    New dungeon: Yuweyawata Field Station;

    New 24-player alliance raid series: Echoes of Vana’diel;

    New Trial: The Minstrel’s Ballad: Sphene’s Burden;

    New Unreal Trial – The Jade Stoa (Unreal): face Byakko, one of the Four Lords, at level 100;
    New Allied Society missions: players will be able to engage in new Allied Society missions for the Pelupelu designed for battle classes and jobs;

    A new Custom Delivery client: Nitowikwe;

    Additional role missions and Wachumeqimeqi: after completing all Dawntrail role missions, a new role mission story will be available. Similarly, after completing all associated missions, a new Wachumeqimeqi story will be available;

    A new series of Hildibrand missions: Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures;

    Support for New Game+ in Patch 7.0: to replay the main story missions, job missions, and role missions;
    Chaotic Alliance Raid – The Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic): a new high-difficulty 24-player raid;

    New Ultimate Raid: Futures Rewritten (Ultimate);

    Additions to Duty Support: support for the non-main story dungeon Halatali and more to come;

    Updates to housing: the ability to choose interior designs from various residential areas, regardless of lot position, and new interior designs will also be introduced;

    Various updates: training for various combat mechanics will be added to the Hall of the Novice, as well as voice lines for Doman Mahjong NPCs and more.
