Civilization VII

Civilization VII: there will be weekly updates coming soon

Announced at the Summer Game Fest in June, there are still a few months to go before Civilization VII launches, the latest instalment in the renowned strategy series from Firaxis Games and published by 2K. The game is set to arrive on February 11, and the team has confirmed they will update players weekly until the release.

Additionally, here are last week’s updates:

  • Civ Stream: The Age of Antiquity. The first community livestream where the Firaxis developers showcased some gameplay from the Age of Antiquity and answered questions from the community in real-time.
  • Development Diary #1: The Ages. Creative director Ed Beach explains HERE the design principles and philosophies behind the creation of the Ages, one of the key new features in Civ VII.
  • First Look: Hatshepsut. First up is Hatshepsut, Queen of the Nile. A key note for long-time viewers: traditionally, First Look videos focused on civilizations, but since in Civ VII civilizations can be selected independently of their leaders, this series will now focus on the leaders and suggest pairings with civilizations.
  • Civilization VII Guide. The game guide is a valuable resource for the Civ community to get more details on the game mechanics, civilizations, and leaders. The first series of guides covers Aksum, Egypt, Greece, the Maya, Maurya, Rome, and Shawnee.

New content for Civilization VII will therefore be released nearly every week leading up to launch, including First Looks, development diaries, streams, game guide updates, and much more. Below is the First Look for Hatshepsut.
