Today, September 13th, Minecraft Pixel Genesis was released, a music album featuring 12 retro-inspired remixes of the most famous melodies from Minecraft. You can listen to it on Spotify and on all major music platforms. A video has also been released for the occasion, which you can watch at the end of the article.
As creative writer Sophie Austine wrote in the official post on the well-known game’s website, you can dive into nostalgia with 12 remixes inspired by retro games of your favourite Minecraft melodies, including Infinite Amethyst by Lena Raine and Precipice by Aaron Cherof. Collaborating with artists Snail’s House, Anamanaguchi, Hyper Potions, Elliot Hsu, AIKA, Synthion, and Leon Chang, this remix album takes Minecraft’s music to 150bpm, with vibrant synths and energetic drops that will make you dance in your seat.
Here’s an excerpt from Austine’s post:
“I don’t know if it’s because the 90s trend is making a comeback or because Minecraft turns 15 this year, but I found myself feeling a lot of nostalgia. For a time when summer seemed to stretch on forever and the only thing to do was play on my Nintendo Game Boy Colour. A time when game music was 8-bit and the sound of success (or failure!) was in mono.”
Below you can watch the video for Minecraft Pixel Genesis, and remember that just a few days ago, the movie based on the Mojang game was announced.
