In a recent interview, series director Like a Dragon Ryosuke Horii and lead planner Hirotaka Chiba from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio shared their thoughts on the future of the series, which was once known as Yakuza, saying, “The story will continue to evolve and will focus on themes relevant to middle-aged guys.” They further added, “After all, we ourselves are middle-aged guys, so we believe that this is the target audience we will be reaching with the Like A Dragon series in the future.”
The director and lead planner expressed their happiness about attracting new fans, including women, through recent instalments of the series. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio emphasized that their approach to game development will not change, and they will not alter the foundations of the series just to cater to newcomers. Lastly, we remind you that the Tokyo Game Show will take place from September 26 to 29, and the studio’s new game will be revealed on September 20.
