Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon X Plus 8-Core: Bringing Copilot+ within reach of entry-level users

According to recent announcements, exciting news has arrived. Qualcomm has unveiled its brand new 8-core Snapdragon X Plus CPU, delivering 45 TOPS of AI performance for Copilot+ PCs to mainstream users. The Snapdragon X line-up has so far included the “Elite” 12-core and “Plus” 10-core variants, but today Qualcomm has added another novelty to its range with an 8-core “Plus” SKU, aimed at the mainstream audience wanting to take advantage of Microsoft’s Copilot+ features.

Cristiano Amon, CEO of Qualcomm, took the stage ahead of IFA to unveil the expansion of the Snapdragon X Series, which will enable OEMs to offer Copilot+ PCs in the $700 to $900 range.
The Snapdragon X Plus 8-core maintains performance leadership for thin and light PCs, featuring a custom Qualcomm Oryon CPU and best-in-class energy efficiency, providing users with responsive performance and multi-day battery life.
Consumers and business users will be able to enjoy revolutionary AI experiences on-device thanks to the 45 TOPS NPU that brings Copilot+ to more devices. The Snapdragon X Plus 8-core will be available from Acer, ASUS, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung, with select devices available for purchase starting today.
