Rocksteady: layoffs following disappointing results of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League

As reported by Eurogamer, Rocksteady has laid off more than half of its QA department, reducing the team from 33 members to 15, citing a restructuring as the reason behind the decision.

However, job losses have extended beyond the QA department. Alexandar Bell, Rocksteady’s chief recruiter, posted on LinkedIn over the weekend, revealing that he was informed of his lay-off while on paternity leave. He stated:

“I suspect I’ve just joined a very exclusive group of people who have been told their role has been eliminated while on paternity leave.”

Staff members at Rocksteady, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed that the loss of so many roles in the QA department, including team members with specialized knowledge, will result in a heavier workload for the remaining colleagues.

It’s worth noting that, in August, Warner Bros. reported a 41% drop in gaming revenue compared to the previous year and stated that it lost $200 million with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

There have been no official remarks regarding the lay-offs from either Rocksteady or Warner Bros.
