Lexar makes the SSD PLAY 2280 PCI-E Gen4 available for PlayStation 5

According to recent announcements, a product has become available that will surely make PlayStation 5 owners happy. In fact, Lexar has announced its new PCI-E Gen 4.0 SSD, named PLAY 2280, specifically designed for Sony’s console. The SSD has been tested and approved for PS5, but is also fully compatible with PCs and offers sequential read speeds of up to 7400 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6500 MB/s.

The SSD unit PLAY 2280 is capable of quickly loading games and the operating system, enhancing the overall experience. These high-speed SSDs significantly reduce loading times compared to traditional SATA drives. The PLAY 2280 has been rigorously tested like any other high-quality Lexar SSD and has a lifespan of 1.5 million hours. It is equipped with a white and gray heat sink with a design reminiscent of the PlayStation 5 console, which dissipates heat during heavy loads. Product Marketing Manager Sherry Chiang stated:

The SSD PLAY 2280 is the perfect companion for the PS5, as it offers a lot of additional storage space, the ability to play directly from the drive, and the performance demanded by gamers.
