Lies of P: according to job announcement, sequel could be open-world

It appears that the sequel to Lies of P, the soulslike game by Neowiz inspired by Pinocchio, may feature dynamics typical of an open-world title.

The development team is indeed looking for field level designers for the next chapter in the series. Among the listed qualifications, they ask for “Experience in creating open-world levels” as well as “Experience in creating seamless worlds.” The key points of the listing also mention a preference for “creating action, developing tools, developing mini-games, and experience in an open world.”

The team also emphasizes in the advertisement that they want to offer high-quality graphics, in-depth level design, and intense action based on Unreal Engine 5.

Currently, there is no concrete information regarding the sequel to one of the most appreciated soulslikes. We will see when the Korean team shares new details about the new episode in development, and if there will indeed be an open-world component.

Lies of P is about to turn one year old, having been released on September 18 last year, and is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, also on Game Pass.
