Grand Theft Auto VI: The Announcement Trailer Reaches 200 Million Views

On the night (Italian time) of December 5th, the long-awaited reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, undoubtedly one of the most anticipated (if not the most) titles in gaming history, arrived ahead of the scheduled time. In the first few hours, it had already surpassed the views of the GTA 5 trailer, and within just over ten days, it had reached 150 million views.

In the past few hours, the trailer for the new game in the Rockstar series has reached another milestone: 200 million views. The milestone was reached shortly after the anniversary of the seven months since the GTA 6 reveal, in the late evening of July 13th, exactly seven months and eight days after the video’s premiere. The influx of views has slowed down significantly in the last few months, with the video needing almost a week to go from 199 to 200 million views.

It’s worth remembering that the presentation of the sixth title in the series was initially scheduled for December 6, 2023, but in the end, Rockstar had decided to release the trailer a day early, after a low-quality version of the video had leaked online. On December 6, the footage had already garnered 93 million views on YouTube, setting a new record for the most views in the first 24 hours for a non-musical video on the platform.

You can re-watch the announcement trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI below, remembering that the game’s release is scheduled for the Fall of 2025.
