After exclusively opening the stages of Max Pezzali’s stadium tour for fans, the new teaser for They Killed Spider-Man – The Legendary Story of 883, the Sky Original series by Sydney Sibilia that will debut on October 11 exclusively on Sky and streaming only on NOW, is finally available to the general public. The series – a Sky Studios and Groenlandia (Banijay Group company) production, produced by Matteo Rovere and Sydney Sibilia – is a rhythmic and brilliant 8-episode dramedy that tells a story of music, small-town life, illusions and great friendship. The protagonists are Elia Nuzzolo and Matteo Oscar Giuggioli (Il filo invisibile, Gli sdraiati, Vostro Onore) in the roles of Max Pezzali and Mauro Repetto, who were able to create, as very young people in the 1990s, a project that became a true generational phenomenon of national scope in just a few years.
The series is a coming-of-age story that tells the tale of Max and Mauro, the legendary 1990s, and the genesis of some of the most famous songs of 883, a duo that, against all odds, starting from Pavia, changed Italian music, surprising everyone, including Max and Mauro themselves, who are now icons able to make entire generations of fans sing and be moved. THEY KILLED SPIDER-MAN – THE LEGENDARY STORY OF 883 is a series by Sydney Sibilia (Smetto quando voglio, L’incredibile storia dell’Isola delle Rose, Mixed by Erry), in the direction of his first series, and is written by him with Francesco Agostini, Chiara Laudani and Giorgio Nerone. The directing team is completed by Francesco Ebbasta (Addio fottuti musi verdi, Generazione 56k) and Alice Filippi (Sul più bello, SIC).
SYNOPSIS
Pavia, late 1980s. Max loves comics and American music. He is a nonconformist in a city where there is nothing to rebel against. Moreover, after neglecting high school to follow new friendships and punk evenings, the inevitable failure arrives. This failure actually turns out to be a new, fateful opportunity: in the high school where he transfers, he has a new desk mate, Mauro. Music makes Max and Mauro inseparable. Thanks to Mauro’s driving force, Max embraces his talent and together they compose the first songs that will be produced by Claudio Cecchetto. But when success overwhelms them, will Max and Mauro, so different, be able to remain united?
