As reported by the site Youxi Putao, Tencent has acquired approximately 37% of Kuro Games shares from Hero Entertainment, a team particularly known for Wuthering Waves, and now holds a controlling stake of 51.4% in the company. Tencent is also now the only external shareholder of Kuro Games.
In an internal note, Kuro Games stated that, although Tencent’s shares now exceed those held by Kuro Games itself, the company has been assured that it will remain independent and operate autonomously without any changes to its strategy, much like Tencent operates with its subsidiaries Riot Games and Supercell. Kuro Games believes that this change will create a more stable external environment for the company and support its long-term strategy of independent operations.
It is worth noting that, regarding Wuthering Waves, it is currently available on PC and mobile (Android, iOS), and will be released on PlayStation 5 starting from 2nd January.
